I am super excited to share that I have facilitated the Building Biology Institute (BBI) taking a dedicated booth at the upcoming Energy & Environmental Building Alliance (EEBA) High Performance Home Builder Summit this coming September. Held at the Saint Paul RiverCentre in the Twin Cities metro area, this premier event represents a critical milestone for our community. It provides a unique opportunity to get our message in front of 400 to 500 highly targeted industry leaders. The attendee list includes progressive high-performance builders, some of the largest production volume builders in both Canada and the United States, architectural professionals, materials manufacturers, and key building suppliers. Furthermore, influential representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) will be actively participating in the event.

The EEBA Summit naturally attracts forward-thinking builders who are genuinely committed to constructing better, more resilient structures. Having been an active member of EEBA for three years, and currently serving on the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, and the Sustainability Builders Group, I have seen a massive shift in market awareness. There is genuine, growing curiosity within the broader industry. I am frequently invited by fellow board members and builders to share my perspective on the deep health implications of everyday construction choices. Far too often, mainstream builders make conventional material selection or electrification decisions completely unaware of the unintended toxic outgassing or elevated electromagnetic radiation consequences they introduce into an indoor environment.

On a slightly more personal and selfish note (as I won’t be the alone), I am thrilled to share that our tireless Executive Director, Erik Rosen, alongside passionate fellow and certified Building Biologist Jen Jobart, will be doing the heavy lifting by managing and anchoring our exhibition booth. I will definitely be popping into the booth to connect with as many visitors as possible, though I will also be balancing my time with official leadership and presentation responsibilities scattered throughout the intensive multi-day summit schedule.
