Seminar: Building Physics/Building Biology – 2024

This 5-day seminar will show you how to create a home that supports human health, the natural environment, and planetary ecology in one fell swoop. Explore with us the dynamic interaction between the climate, the built environment, and the impact of that built environment upon the occupant and the ecosystem. Join us on this 5-day exploration of materials, furnishings, and finishes, heating and cooling systems, thermal and moisture movement, building envelopes, and safe, sustainable, technologically sound methods and practices aligned with The 25 Building Biology Principles.

Co-instructors Paula Baker-Laporte and Stephen Collette are looking forward to welcoming you to the recently remodeled Kanuga Retreat & Conference Center, in Hendersonville, North Carolina. This venue has been thoroughly vetted by Diana Schultz, BBEC, EMRS to ensure its buildings and its surrounds meet or exceed Building Biology standards for a health-supporting environment. Enrollees from all backgrounds and education levels are welcome and encouraged to attend, learn, and enjoy this 5-day seminar. You are encouraged to lodge on-site at the seminar venue. Room & board fees include a private room with private bath. All meals are made from scratch, on-site, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available. This event is also one of three required seminar modules for completing BBEC/BBNC/EMRS certification.
